Manuel Antonio - page 2
It is very hard not to be struck by the natural beauty and environment while in Costa Rica. This is, of course, why people come here. Manuel Antonio is a very special place in a country of special places. Inside the park at Manuel Antonio the third beach, and furthest removed from the entrance, is a place without equal. The waters come into a natural cove that is mostly protected from direct ocean currents. The surrounding forest refuses to yield and comes right up to the water front in most areas. There is a section of beach with a small isle attached via a sand bar. High tide makes the beach somewhat inaccessible as it covers much of it leaving jagged rocks as the only approach. Over these rocks hundreds, if not thousands, of crabs scurried between small pools. To the other side of the cove, cliffs barricade the forest from the ocean. It was really hard to leave that place.
